From Venezuela to Iran: The Dissident Project is Breaking Reach Records

Februrary 3, 2025 —

January was the biggest month for media in the Dissident Project's history!
Responding to the breaking news about Nicolas Maduro's arrest, Daniel Di Martino reached over 5 million people through multiple major TV appearances, op-eds, and earned media, shaping the national conversation about Venezuela.

Last month, Daniel secured more than 16 major media appearances, covering the transition of power in Venezuela and Zohran Mamdani’s election in New York City. Check out his top hits:

This is not a rare occurrence. Daniel’s success reflects the Dissident Project's long-term strategy: elevating firsthand witnesses of tyranny into nationally recognized voices across television, print, and digital platforms. Since joining Young Voices in 2019, our team has helped elevate Daniel from a young contributor into a leading commentator shaping the conversation about socialism when the news cycle turns in our favor.

But, Daniel wasn’t the only Dissident making headlines this month. As unrest escalated in the Middle East, our Iranian speakers also impacted the national conversation. Tahmineh Dehbozorgi’s commentary on X surpassed 6 million views, while our newest Iranian dissident, Shay Khatiri, was invited onto Fox News to analyze developments on the ground. All together, these three combined for more than 11 million views in January.

Thanks to our supporters, the Dissident Project is building a durable pipeline of freedom fighters who are turning their lived experience under tyranny into lasting influence for liberty.
