Tan is a philosophy graduate student at Bilkent University (Ankara, Türkiye). He has served as a project coordinator for Freedom Research Association, focusing on tax policies of Türkiye and lifestyle economics. He writes mainly on public policy and regulation (especially on the comparative scale between Türkiye and the EU) and tobacco harm reduction. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Law from Bilkent University.
