Jack Verrill

Jack Verrill is a Sophomore at the University of Michigan, studying Politics, Philosophy, and Economics. Raised in Portland, Maine, Jack got his start in the restaurant industry dishwashing at his mom’s bar. Now in college, Jack spends most of his time reading about politics and watching sports. When he’s not reading Thomas Sowell or watching Michigan football, Jack can be found ranking Martin Scorsese movies (Goodfellas is currently #1), or cooking chicken parmesan. The trick, he says, is to use more oil than you think. After college, Jack hopes to take his talents to Washington D.C., working either in media or on Capitol Hill. In the meantime, he plans on studying abroad in London and pursuing internships in the media/political space. His political views are the result of values installed in him by his mother, combined with voracious reading habits that exposed him to a wide range of perspectives. Jack’s beliefs are constantly evolving, but can be described as combining the forward-thinking economics of Representative Ro Khanna, with the freedom-loving instincts of Representative Thomas Massie.
