Joseph Bouchard is a journalist and researcher. Originally from Quebec City, Canada, he has travelled extensively to South America, covering geopolitics and security issues in the region for North American and foreign audiences. He has written for The Diplomat, The Brazilian Report, Global Americans, Mongabay, City Paper Bogotá, and done scouting work for Al Jazeera English in Colombia. He is a candidate in the MIA program at Carleton University's Norman Patterson School and is looking to shape security and defence policy in the Americas.
