America turns 250 this year, and to celebrate, Young Voices is hosting the America 250 Summer Author Series. Over the next three months, Young Voices’ Program Manager and author Caleb Franz will be sitting down with three leading conservative and libertarian authors for in-depth conversations on the founding principles and why the American experiment is worth preserving.
Our first installment in the series will be a conversation with one of Young Voices’ own alumni, Alexander Salter—an economics professor at Texas Tech's Rawls College of Business and author of The Spirit of ’76: Libertarianism and American Renewal. On May 6th, Alexander and Caleb will dig into the libertarian principles at the core of the American founding.
In June, we’ll be joined by Phillip W. Magness—Senior Fellow at the Independent Institute and the David J. Theroux Chair in Political Economy, and author of The 1619 Project: A Critique. On June 3rd, Phillip and Caleb will be discussing some of the complex roots of the American founding, and the ideological influences pushing for historical revisionism.
Finally, in July, we’re going to be joined by Tony Williams—Senior Fellow at the Bill of Rights Institute and co-author of Divided Over the Declaration: How an Enduring Debate Sustains the Vision of America. On July 8th, Tony and Caleb will discuss the enduring legacy of the Declaration of Independence, how it has shaped America for 250 years, and how it remains relevant (and contentious) today.
We hope you'll join us.
